Birmingham Weekender 2015 was a weekend of free outdoor performance, art and entertainment across the city centre that took place between 25th-27th October co-inciding with the opening of the new Grand Central and much anticipated John Lewis store.
Grand Central is a new development above Birmingham New Street Station with some great new shops and restaurants. Aside from John Lewis, there is a Jo Malone store, White Company, Kiehl’s, Oliver Bonas, MAC, Tiger, Wasabi and Leon.
As well as the amazing shopping, there were some great performances over the weekend. One of the highlight acts were the Maudits Sonnants, a French group of acrobats, trapezists, dancers, percussionists, bell ringers and singers who were suspended from a crane 55 metres above the ground creating a musical chandelier.
There was a really great atmosphere in the city all weekend and it’s inspired me to kick-start my blog again. Although this blog was originally going to focus on shoes, there will be posts on a wider range of topics going forwards. This will include lifestyle posts, food, restaurant reviews, interior design, books as well as the usual fashion, beauty and shoes!
